Off the back of my last article on qualities and traits of leadership in gaming, I was asked to talk to a business for a new article and one of the questions they asked got me thinking.
If leaders were looking at what they wanted in their leadership teams, what traits should they be looking for now?
Good question!
So I decided to try and remember what I said – not easy – and put them down for all you leaders out there that are constantly looking at what or who is next
While it’s difficult to identify individuals who will emerge as new leaders in business, there are some identifiable trends and qualities that future business leaders should have, in my opinion. Here are 10 key aspects to consider when looking as I like a round number and a good list too!
- Emphasis on sustainability: As global concerns about the environment continue to grow, we will likely prioritise sustainable business practices and long-term thinking.
- Digital transformation and technology adoption: Future leaders will need to be well-versed in technology, as it will play an increasingly significant role in business operations, decision-making, and innovation.
- Embracing diversity and inclusion: We will likely focus on creating diverse and inclusive work environments, recognising the value that different perspectives bring to an organization.
- Adaptability and resilience: Given the rapidly changing business landscape, leaders who can adapt quickly and respond to challenges with resilience will be in high demand.
- Ethical decision-making: As the public becomes more aware of corporate social responsibility, we will need to demonstrate strong ethical values and a commitment to doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult.
- Collaboration and empathy: The ability to work well with others, both within and outside the organization, will be essential. This includes demonstrating empathy and understanding for the needs of employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
